Founded in 1921, the Association Maconnique Internationale was an international Masonic federation created by Isaac Reverchon, the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge Alpina of Switzerland. Its lofty goal was to unite the European Grand Lodges of Continental Freemasonry, establish and maintain relationships with the Grand Orient de France and to establish ties of Masonic solidarity overseas, both in the United States and further afield. Its membership would eventually span 4 continents before its dissolution in 1950. The AMI was an overtly political organization that sought to co-ordinate the political activities of its members. It was quick to condemn the rise of National Socialism in Germany and lobbied for years against the repressive regime of Francisco Franco. Eventually, at the urging of the UGLE to separate itself from radical politics, the GLSA would dissolve the AMI in 1950. Here you will find all extant copies of the AMI's bulletin sent to its members. These publications are not only of interest to the Masonic scholar but offer a first hand account of some of Europe's most troubled times.
