Freemasonry traces its traditions to the builders of ancient Israel and the many mighty structures built to glorify God and advance humanity. As such, Masons study ancient biblical tales to gain understanding, including the building of the mythic Tower of Babel, prophecies of a future battle in the fields of Armageddon (Megiddo), and heroic accounts of Joshua bringing down the fabled walls of Jericho with sound, which echoed from the tumult of marching troops, shouting, blaring trumpets and rams' horns.
Could there be truth to these ancient stories? Does modern archaeological evidence support or discredit these fantastic tales?
